If you make this mistake, you will find that it is nearly impossible to move the box. Plus the box may also break. Pack books in smaller boxes that are easy to maneuver. Also, pack as much into the boxes as possible and then fill the empty space with either old bedding or newspapers to prevent collapse when the boxes are stacked. If you have rented a larger self storage unit, it is helpful to leave some walking space between furniture and boxes.
